Autumn Term 2
Our topic this half term is Changing Worlds. We are learning about the industrial revolution and how it affected our lives. In English we are looking at traditional tales and writing recounts of our own experiences. We will be looking at the Polar Express in the coming weeks. In maths we are using a number line to subtract. We are also beginning to look at shape and the properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
Our PE lessons are on a Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
In PE we are learning about dance and how to use our bodies to make different movements. We will practising and performing a dance in small groups at the end of the half term.
The children in Beijing Class are constantly being reminded; they must do their reading and spellings every night and do at least one piece of home learning each week. We remind the children that home learning activities are things they should be able to do by themselves, and even if they only read a couple of pages a night it is still worth it! We have had lots of chats about exercising our brains outside of school, and doing some learning activities at home are really good for helping this!
